Dinner w/ the Gay Moralist

Every once in a while, I read the Gay Moralist, by John Corvino. I should read it more often, because I usually agree with (or am educated by) what he says. He has an interesting perspective on issues around sexuality and quite a bit of knowledge to back his perspective up.

A few years back - when we were in grad school - Anthony and I had dinner with John and his partner after the Detroit GLBT Film Festival. They invited us, with a bunch of their friends, to a middle eastern restaurant. We were surrounded by a college professor and four laywers. It made for interesting conversation (one of the friends ordered dinner for us - which kills me - and requested a raw lamb dish [this may have been a major pre-cursor to my vegetarianism]). John and his partner were incredibly nice!

Portland elects Openly Gay Mayor

This is progress!

Although, my fear is that the people of Portland were confusing the gay candidate for the beer company
